Dr (A) James Macdonald

Dr James Macdonald is an internationally renowned geologist with 35 years of experience including a distinguished academic career in the UK and Canada.  He has spent the last 26 years acquiring a wide range of exploration project management experience – including evaluation and project feasibility studies, management of combined industry, government and university regional exploration programmes and as Exploration Manager for the Homestake Mining Company with responsibility for the Andes.
 
Following three years as Chief Geoscientist for Billiton International Metals in The Hague, Netherlands, he moved to Brisbane, Australia, as the Global Geoscience Leader for BHP Billiton for a further four years.  He was responsible for global technical support to the exploration search teams for diamonds, base metals, iron ore, coal and bauxite. His emphasis was on due diligence, risk evaluation and knowledge management.
 
In recent years as a consultant and company director, he has been heavily involved in Australasia, utilising his management experience.

 


Dr Ken Maiden

Ken is a geologist with 35 years professional experience with major resource companies (CSR, MIM); as an academic (University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg) and as a mineral exploration consultant. He has extensive base metal experience, especially in the Mount Isa Block and in other Australian Proterozoic provinces, as well as in southern Africa, Indonesia and China. 

Ken's 10 years of mineral exploration experience in northwest Queensland includes 6 years as Principal Geologist with MIM Exploration and 4 years as a geological consultant, mainly involved in concept development and project generation.

Ken is a founding Executive Director of the Company. He is responsible for the generation and implementation of technical strategies of the consolidated entity. He was Chief Geologist for CopperCo Limited from its foundation until he was appointed Executive Director - Technical & Chief Geologist of Copper Range Limited.



Dr Deng Jiniu

Dr Deng Jiniu is a well known professorial senior engineer with a Doctorate degree from the Chinese University of Geosciences.  He has held the position of Chief Geologist and Executive Director of Western Mining Co. Ltd from 2000 and since 2006 has been Chairman and Managing Director of Qinghai West Resources Co. Ltd and Chairman of Qinghai West Rare & Precious Metals Co. Ltd. Dr Deng Jiniu has published several scientific reports and has been honoured with many awards for his exploration achievements in discovering a number of significant base metals deposits in at least three provinces of China.

 

 

 

 

Chen Qiang

Dr Deng has appointed Mr Chen Qiang as his alternate Director. Mr Chen, a resident of Perth, has extensive experience in international commodities trading and private equity investment. In the 1990s, Mr Chen was the Marketing Manager of China Metallurgical Import and Export Company Australia Pty Ltd (CMIEC).
 

Mr Chen established PT Group, a specialised global trading house, in 1996 and in a decade has built up the company into a well-known iron ore trading company. In 2002, he established Brown Stone Group, a private equity investment company, with interests in Australia and China.  Since 2006, Mr Chen has been the Managing Director of West Minerals Pty Ltd, a company associated with China’s West Resources Co., Ltd.

 

Alan Humphris

Mr. Humphris is an investment banker with more than 25 years experience in Australia and offshore markets specializing in corporate finance and advisory services.  He is Managing Director of Balmoral Capital Pty Limited.  Previously he was an Executive Director of Hambros Australia Limited and Head of Hambros Corporate Finance, and earlier he was a Director of J P Morgan Australia Limited.  Mr Humphris is a non-executive director of ASF Group Limited and Rey Resources Limited.
