About Us
Since its formation in 2001, IBML has achieved exploration success through:
-
Gaining strategic tenement positions in geologically favourable regions
-
Identifying targets by applying industry best practice to mineral exploration
-
Expanding resource potential by a detailed and committed exploration programme.
-
Attracting investors to fund exploration and drilling.
This approach led to discovery of an oxide copper resource at Mt Kelly in northwest Queensland in 2003. This success was followed, in September 2004, by the merger of IBML’s northwest Queensland subsidiary with other other assests in the region to create CopperCo Limited as a new copper company. CopperCo commenced production at Mount Kelly in 2007.
In 2006 and 2007 IBML successfully listed two exploration companies on the ASX – Copper Range Pty Limited (taking up its Olympic Domain and Flinders Ranges tenements in South Australia, in 2006) and Zamia Gold Mines Limited (central Queensland projects). Zamia’s exploration programmes have identified a porphyry molybdenum system and initial drilling programmes have intersected potentially ore-grade molybdenum concentrations over a wide area at the Anthony prospect, now the focus of exploration. IBML retains an equity holding in Copper Range of 5.5% and in Zamia of 6.5%.
In late 2006, IBML turned its attention to Namibia. With new funding from a number of investors, notably West Minerals Pty Ltd, IBML farmed into several attractive exploration tenements and established a subsidiary company, Craton Mining and Exploration (Pty) Ltd, with an exploration office in Windhoek. Craton has delineated a major new copper deposit, at Omitiomire of over 500,000 tonnes of contained copper. IBML is currently expanding the resource potential.
IBML has other exploration projects in Nambia and in Queensland, Australia (managed by Maranoa Resources Pty Ltd), and in NSW, Australia (managed by AuriCula Mines Pty Ltd). Both of these companies are wholly-owned subsidiaries of IBML.
IBML has dedicated staff in both Sydney, Australia and Windhoek, Namibia that service both technical and administrative requirements. This team approach combines industry experience with youthful recent graduates and has resulted in the company’s success to date.
