Ekuja Dome
The Ekuja basement dome, hosts the Omitiomire deposit and spans an area of 140 km². The Omitiomire deposit remains “open” in most directions.
A regional-scale (400m x 400m) and infill (100m x 100m) soil geochemical surveys defined extensive copper anomalies over the Ekuja Dome.
The probable extensions to the Omitiomire deposit suggest that a resource of 1 million tonnes of contained copper is achievable.
In April 2009, following the closure of the Rights Issue, an exploration programme for Stage 1 commenced over the Ekuja Dome consisting of:
- Lines of shallow rotary air blast (RAB) drill holes, designed to determine the validity of
geochemical anomalies and to identify targets for follow-up drilling;
- Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling over RAB targets.
A Stage 2 exploration programme is planned for August 2009, which will consist of resource drilling on targets identified during the Stage 1 scoping study.
